“Britta is an incredible and unique therapist.  I love her style – genuine and authentic, supportive, empathetic, and encouraging. She’s also FUNNY. As a result of her relational nonjudgmental style, we have a strong connection and I’ve felt safe sharing with her shameful and/or embarrassing stuff I have never told anyone. Working through the tough stuff with Britta is more uplifting and empowering than I imagined. When I started working with Britta, I was struggling with basically a lifetime of eating disorders and depression, and I now amazingly have a healthy(ier) relationship with food and my body, my depression has completely lifted and sooo many more positive changes. I’m still on my journey, but for the first time I’m very optimistic about the next phase of my life. I wouldn’t have been able to get here without Britta!”

“I call her my ‘fat coach’ but really, it’s much more than that. I had my first appointment with her right before leaving on holiday - a cruise with all of my favorite foods. I told her ‘I’m HAVING pizza. And I am DEFINITELY having waffles and ice cream and whatever I want.’ And she simply said, ‘ok’. And then she tacked on ‘or you could just have the pizza topping - remember, harm reduction is still reduction - it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be.’ I reached out to her during that cruise and guess what? No pizza, no sodas, no waffles. I think it was the ease with which she spoke to me - it was my choice and always would be and whatever that choice was, she’d support it. She’s with me through all of it, when I am perfect and when I’m not. It’s a good challenge and one that feels easier with the right support.”

“I have struggled with Binge Eating Disorder for as long as I can remember. The growth I have had in the year and a half with Britta is more than I have in years of working with other providers (including an inpatient program!). Recovery is a never-ending process, and I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but I finally feel capable of recovery with Britta by my side.”

“Working with Britta really helped me establish my own voice, something with which I'd struggled for pretty much my entire life. Through my work with her, I was able to leave behind a toxic relationship and take chances instead of sticking to what I knew wasn't working. She's helped me advocate for and listen to myself and realize my inner strength.”
