Relational healing to get you to your happy(er) place.
WTF is Relational?
I’m sure you’ll agree, everyone experiences sh*t. Sometimes it’s a pebble and sometimes it’s a boulder. How we handle the crap is often relational, and that’s where I come in. Relational healing therapy harnesses authenticity, humor, curiosity, and acceptance to support you through your transitions and move you to a place where you love yourself (and maybe others) as you are.
We will work together to find your happy(er) space and because your healing process is unique, we’ll discover the interventions that fit you best. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, body issues, or some combination of them all, it is my commitment to wade through the muck and activate change.
My life force is best harnessed when helping people heal. AND I’m a firm believer in try before you buy, so let’s see if we’re a fit. Schedule your complimentary chat with me today!
About Britta
My life journey has been an interesting one. It has been a life full of shifts, struggles, and strange encounters that have afforded me the spirit and space to sit with the transitions, hardships, and curveballs of life with a sense of understanding and acceptance. What all of this boils down to is: helping people is my top priority.
But let me start with the why. Sort of.
I moved to New Orleans right before the chaotic bitch that was Katrina decided to descend upon that sacred city. I had hopes of restoring the historic places that spurred my decision to move there but, after the storm receded, a rebirth was critical to survival: from the city’s roots, to its architecture, to its culture. And the culture of New Orleans is in the people themselves.
For many months following Katrina, life operated under martial law - I was restricted to my front porch and others to theirs from sundown to sunup. From those porches, we would talk to each other and find what connection we could in a city on life support whose heartbeat was once heard across the world.
From those porches, wild friendships formed and my path became more illuminated. I got my Masters in Counseling and began work in the poorest and hardest-hit neighborhoods whose inhabitants could be described as the same. It was there that I met Dane, a sentient being who happened to have schizophrenia. We would meet three times a week on a street corner in the projects, both perched upon milk crates. While much of his verbal ability got tangled in the crevices of his brain before uttering a word, there we sat, communicating as only we could. In three years’ time, a quiet transformation occurred and it was unlike anything I had ever witnessed. A man unable to speak and too insecure to move from a milk crate waved goodbye on our last session as he boarded a bus to Dallas.
Dane gifted me THE knowledge that transformed my work as a human and healer. It is not in words but in transactions that beautiful growth can occur. In New Orleans, as in many cities, you will find people gathered on their porches, on their stoops, in their gardens. It is here that so much of who we are gets truly revealed. There are no pretenses, only a place to be. It was on those porches that I fell in love with all of humanity and hoped that in turn, I would be accepted as authentically me.
So, from New Orleans to New York City and now back in my home state of Arkansas, I’m honored to work with amazing people and help them on their journey to self-love and self-acceptance as each and every one of them has helped me on mine.
I cannot stress this enough: I’d love to work with you!

I have struggled with addiction for as long as I can remember. In my attempt to recover, I have been seen by various treatment providers (all who have his or her own approach) yet I still was never able to make great progress. It was not until I started working with Britta that I was able to take responsibility for my actions and finally take a look at the root cause of my behaviors. Britta’s unique, client-centered approach allows me to look at my addiction from many angles, which is necessary for recovery. Recovery work is often painful and hard to work through, but Britta is with me every step of the journey.
My story is complicated as I struggle with co-occurring addictions. For years I was afraid to discuss my use with therapists for fear of judgment. Britta’s non-judgmental and empathic aura allowed me to feel comfortable and finally begin to understand the connection between my self-esteem and my use of substances.
The growth I have had in three years with Britta is more than I have in years of working with other providers (including an inpatient program!) Recovery is a never-ending process, and I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but I finally feel capable of recovery with Britta by my side.
